You’ve probably been hearing a lot of buzz about Verizon’s 5G Nationwide coverage, and you may be wondering what it’s all about. 5G has been around for a while so you have to ask yourself: Is it really any different now? Short answer: Yes.
The Verizon 5G Nationwide Difference
Let’s begin with the most obvious: “Nationwide” means nationwide. Until now, 5G was only available in certain parts of the country – namely a limited number of large cities and stadiums. That availability was very exciting, but for many of us, that meant no access – even if we already had 5G-equipped phones. But now, it’s coming to over 1,800 cities and 200+ million people. To quote Verizon, the combination of 5G Nationwide and 4G LTE is “Coverage where it counts.”

Of course we’d be remiss if we didn’t touch on what sets Verizon apart from its competitors. If you have the service, you already know. But did you know that Verizon has been named America’s Best Network and received multiple awards from third-party reviewers? In fact, this past July, J.D. Power named Verizon the “Most Awarded Wireless Company for Network Quality” for the twenty-fifth time in a row. You can’t argue with that proof.
5G Has the Power
The most remarkable feature of 5G is the power. According to Verizon, it’s 25x faster than today’s 4G networks. Here’s what that looks like:
- Download in seconds not minutes
- Experience augmented reality at lightning speed
- Video chat in HD with little lag
- Game solo or multiplayer with console-quality play
- Stream 4K movies with little, if any, buffering
Here’s one more thing to be excited about. Gone are the days of having to compete for service with other wireless users in the area. With 5G, the more the merrier.
The implications of this 5G technology on business, distance-learning, healthcare and emergency services among other industries is remarkable. And if you think that’s great, imagine what you can do with 5G Ultra Wideband when it becomes more readily-available.
