Good News | Q1 2025

2025 is off to an inspiring start! In January, February, and March, we’ve leaned into our mission of doing good in our communities by showing up, giving back, and making real change happen.

March 2025

Helping Hands and Changing Lives

The WA/ID D1 sales team volunteered with Mighty to Save and helped feed the homeless. This nonprofit assists those who want to transition from a life of addition to one of sobriety by providing assistance with transitional housing, connections with community services, and weekly support groups.

A Recipe for Kindness

The YWCA reached out to WA/ID D3 sales team for help with a project they’re working on for the community, a “soup-port order event”! The team set up tables, unpacked and organized the bowls, and packed to-go orders for delivery. The heartfelt conversations and smiles, how appreciative they were for extra hands, and getting the opportunity to work side by side to help put together something so beautiful to help their community was truly fulfilling. WA/ID D3 has provided continued support to this organization over the years, and they also had the honor of being the volunteer spotlight in the YWCA’s yearly newsletter.

Hands-On Help

Lucy R. spent her 4-year work anniversary volunteering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace in El Paso. They had a total of 75 community volunteers who built 68 beds from start to finish. This process is done from scratch and nothing is pre-built: the lumber is provided, but all the measuring, cutting, sanding, and staining etc. is done by the volunteers.

A Big Impact for Little Paws

Dawn H. organized another successful food drive at our Store Support office, collecting 500 lbs of cat food for Cats Haven. Dawn has supported Cats Haven for years – Indianapolis’ oldest cat sanctuary and no-kill shelter that provides a home to special needs and elderly cats. This donation made a big impact on a small rescue!

Teamwork That Transforms

The WA/ID D3 sales team was privileged to contribute to another Homes of Hope event, a local nonprofit providing free support services to foster, adoptive, and biological families impacted by the foster care system. They helped by setting up, decorating, organizing tables, and unpacking kitchen items. They’re thankful to be part of a community that can work together to make a significant task easier and more joyful.

Sweet Treats for a Great Cause

DART (Data and Analytics Reporting Team) partnered with the IT department and hosted a good event for More Than a Phone at the Store Support office offering sweet treats with purchase of MTAP Cloths for Good.

Whether you donated, shared the event with others, contributed treats or volunteered your time, you helped amplify the impact of this amazing cause. They raised an outstanding $725, all of which will support survivors of domestic violence.

Supporting Teachers, Empowering Students

Our Pittsburgh sales region employees in New Hire, Mastering SMB, ELEVATE, and DM trainings finished off their week by giving back at The Education Partnership and got to see first-hand what TCC’s culture is all about! They volunteered in the warehouse where teachers from underfunded schools can come in and fill grocery carts with supplies for their classrooms at no cost! Their team helped a school that works with students who have learning and behavioral disabilities. They saw teachers smiling and excited to go back to work to share legos, markers, supplies, and desk chairs with their students. It was an amazing experience, and they were grateful to support teachers in a time where so many could use an extra hand.

Serving Up Support

The EIN sales region volunteered with Greensburg Community Bread of Life for their annual turkey noodle dinner, an event they have supported for the past five years. EIN also provides ongoing support to this soup kitchen throughout the year by volunteering their time and community grants.

February 2025

Briefcase Event

At our briefcase event that wrapped up our internal holiday sales contest, we gave away $150,000 to some of our top reps in the field, game show style. Congrats to our big winner, Jonathan M. from Geneva, NY. Jonathan won $25,000, plus he donated $2,500 to his local humane society.

Teachers Rock

Our Teachers Rock community event a success! Our stores went back to school for the day while they delivered care kits filled with school supplies to local teachers. Next stop? Stuff the Bus! We’re excited to keep this momentum going and make a huge impact for some local schools.

Harvest Hope Food Bank Volunteer Events

Our NC/SC/GA sales region kicked off the year with purpose by volunteering twice at Harvest Hope Food Bank. This is South Carolina’s largest food bank that works with organizations across the state to help feed their most vulnerable residents, including children, seniors, and people in rural areas without access to grocery stores.

Amber’s Blood Donation Story

A single donation can save a life – just ask Amber S., Telesales Customer Retention Manager. Amber shares her story about why she’s passionate about donating blood, and she encourages you to join her!

“I’d like to share the reason behind my commitment to being a regular blood donor. My journey began in 2016, a year after I received a blood transfusion that ultimately saved my life. In 2015, during the delivery of my youngest daughter, I experienced severe complications and lost a significant amount of blood, requiring an emergency transfusion. It was during that time I also discovered that I have a rare blood type.

In 2016, a LifeSouth blood drive was set up outside the Verizon store where I worked. Despite being terrified of needles, I decided to overcome my fear and donate during my lunch break. To my surprise, the process wasn’t as painful as I expected. From that moment on, I committed to donating every eight weeks whenever the blood drive returned to our parking lot. Over the 8.5 years I worked at that store, I not only became a consistent donor but also inspired my coworkers and even some of my frequent customers to donate.

About two years ago, I took my commitment a step further by joining a LifeSouth program that matches donors with specific blood type needs. Through this program, I’ve received messages when my blood was urgently needed—for example, to help a child with sickle cell anemia whose body could only accept certain markers that my blood lacks. Knowing I could make an immediate difference for someone in need was incredibly rewarding.

As of January 27, 2025, I’m proud to say I’ve joined LifeSouth’s Gallon Club and now donate platelets every 2–4 weeks. The knowledge that my donations help save lives fills me with a deep sense of purpose, and I encourage everyone who is able to donate to do so. You never know when an accident or emergency might affect you or a loved one and being a donor could mean the difference between life and death for someone in need.”

Village Winter Fundraiser

The Village employee resource group held a winter fundraiser where they created beautiful stockings and filled them with candy. They were assisted by the AOA employee resource group that helped get all 200 stockings decorated. The Pause employee resource group connected Village with Operation Homefront, and they donated 13 boxes of toys to go with the stockings!! These toys were distributed around the country and members of Village visited local children’s hospitals to drop them off.

Tacoma Rescue Mission Volunteer Event

Seattle-area locations from the WA/ID sales region linked up to do some good at the Tacoma Rescue Mission.

THE TRM vision is that every homeless person in Pierce County, WA, has access to a complete and permanent pathway out of poverty. For more than 100 years, they’ve been providing emergency services like shelter and food, and self-sufficiency programs to help lift a person from poverty and break the chains of addiction.

The WA/ID team had the pleasure to do some good by prepping food, cleaning, serving meals and engaging in conversation with those we were serving as we created memories that will last a lifetime.

The Altar Food Bank Volunteer Event

The WA/ID D2 sales team helped out at The Altar Food Bank in Coeur d’Alene, ID. They went and helped organize and unload a truck because the ladies who run the food bank are older and already dedicate so much of their time. This organization serves their community and the surrounding areas with food, clothing, and other needs.

Salvation Army Volunteer Event

The WA/ID D5 sales team volunteered at the Salvation Army, stocking up the fridge, freezer, and pantry for their food drives and meal prepping.

January 2025

Big Afro Productions Q4 Grant

Zach B. awarded his Q4 grant of $4,250 to Sherry Harris with Big Afro Productions. Sherry is creating a documentary on young African Americans in Indianapolis showcasing their personal excellence in hopes to inspire other youth to follow in their footsteps to a better future.

This past September, Zach and Tyler C. were able to attend a soap box derby race where Sherry was spotlighting Shelton Taylor on his recent win as 2024 super stock challenge champion. He is now one of three African American soap box derby champions from Indianapolis.

Paoli, IN, Ribbon Cutting

The Paoli, IN, store celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon cutting, a $2,500 to local nonprofit Backpacks of Blessings, and chamber of commerce meet and greet session. The Paoli team is excited to begin connecting in this new community!

Round Room Holiday Party

At our Store Support holiday party, we did some good in true Round Room fashion. We kicked off Teachers Rock with a fun and friendly competition to create themed baskets to donate to Christel House. Each department was tasked with filling their baskets with a variety of supplies, including gift cards, snacks, teaching materials, and cleaning essentials, all while decorating them creatively. We also wrote thank you cards and sent Starbucks gift cards to the teachers at Christel House. The highlight of the party was seeing the Christel House staff’s reactions when we presented them with the baskets.
