Start your career in the ever-changing wireless retail industry. You already love your phone, so why not sell them?
These are just five of the many reasons why you should consider a career in cellular.
1. No two days are the same.
Technology moves fast. New phones come out every couple months, each time with more advancements, tweaks, features, and a boatload of complementary accessories. When you work in wireless retail, you need to be able to keep up with the constant changes in tech and be knowledgable about the latest lineup of smartphones.
Plus, you never know who’s going to walk in the door! Every single person you help has a unique life story -this is a great chance to connect with all kinds of people you otherwise might not cross paths with.
2. Opportunities for advancement.
It’s not just a job in wireless retail, it’s a career. No matter what your personal strengths are, working in the wireless industry has many different paths for growth and advancements.
“About ten years ago, I had just gotten out of the Air Force and I went in to upgrade my phone. I was having a conversation with the store manager and the sales reps at that location; they were talking about how great TCC was, and I wanted to be a part of that. I started off as a sales associate in Brownsburg, Indiana. I became a store manager six months after that and worked at various locations around the Indianapolis area. Then, I became a market manager. Now, I’m in my current role as the loss prevention manager at our corporate office.”

3. Help improve people’s lives.
Your phone is your personal assistant and diary; whether it’s photos of your brand new nephew, a voicemail your grandma left just saying hi, or the contact information for the most important people in your life, it’s all on your phone. Helping a customer transfer their data might seem like a quick fix, but it could mean the world to them. You just saved all of their precious memories they thought might be gone forever!
4. Make money while improving people’s lives.
Working in wireless sales is a unique role. Because of commission, you have some control over how much income you’re bringing in each week. The products and accessories you’re selling are the cream of the crop in wireless; they have the newest, coolest advancements in tech that can make your life easier in ways not even possible a few years ago. (Think wireless charging pads, quick charge technology, and smart speakers like Google Home, just to name a few.) Making a connection with a customer, finding out about their lifestyle, and confidently presenting products that will actually improve their day-to-day life makes all the difference.
5. Give back.
Here at TCC, every store chooses a nonprofit organization to partner with for a year and all employees are given paid volunteer days. We encourage them to go out into their local communities and start making a difference for causes they’re passionate about.
Although company-wide volunteer efforts aren’t a standard across all wireless retail companies, most do choose to use their resources and influence to help give back in some way.
